Astros put McCullers on DL, recall Peacock

HOUSTON — Astros right-hander Lance McCullers, who was forced to leave Tuesday’s start with right elbow discomfort, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday. The club recalled veteran right-hander Brad Peacock from Triple-A Fresno.
McCullers, who gave up two runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays, has been emerging as a force in the Astros’ rotation, going 6-5 with a 3.22 ERA in 14 starts. In 81 innings, he’s allowed 80 hits and struck out 106 batters.
