Martellus and Michael Bennett Discuss J.J. Watt, Jay Cutler, Eli Manning, More

With 15 combined seasons of NFL experience under their belts, Michael and Martellus Bennett recently let loose on some of the notable stars they have played with and against over the years.
In an interview with ESPN The Magazine’s Mina Kimes, the Bennett brothers said the first thing that came to their minds upon hearing a person’s name.
The first name Kimes brought up was Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who Michael called the “worst quarterback in the NFL.”
That’s hardly a surprise since Bennett has gone on the record talking about “mediocre” quarterbacks who sign lucrative contracts, per Brady Henderson of ESPN 710 in Seattle.
The more interesting quote about Cutler came from Martellus, who played with the much-maligned quarterback in Chicago from 2013-15. Bennett said that he would “be open and he’d [Cutler] throw into double coverage.”
In the past, Bennett compared Cutler to Jesus, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. No matter what Cutler does, he’s going to draw criticism, even from former teammates.
