Murray disappointed by Olympics withdrawals

RIO DE JANEIRO — Andy Murray says it is a shame that many of the top players in the men’s game will not play at the Olympic Games.
Four of the 10 highest ranked stars, including Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer, will not take part and the reigning champion didn’t seem overly impressed by the reasons given for their withdrawals.
“It was unfortunate with Roger [Federer] and Stan [Wawrinka], they are two guys who are great players and capable of winning events like this,” Murray said after his first practice session at the Olympic Tennis Centre in Rio on Tuesday. “It is a shame they aren’t here but it is still a pretty strong field.
