Mets place SS Cabrera on DL amid roster shuffle

NEW YORK — The New York Mets placed shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera on the disabled list Tuesday amid a flurry of roster moves that followed an active trade deadline.
Cabrera and outfielder Justin Ruggiano landed on the DL, while outfielder Brandon Nimmo and right-hander Seth Lugo were demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The Mets officially added newly acquired outfielder Jay Bruce and left-hander Jonathon Niese and promoted infielder Ty Kelly and left-hander Josh Edgin from their Pacific Coast League club.
