Notes: Frampton, Selby interested in unification showdown

A few notes from around the boxing world:
Featherweight titlist Lee Selby, of Wales, was ringside Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, to watch as Northern Ireland’s Carl Frampton wrested a featherweight belt from Leo Santa Cruz by majority decision in a helacious fight of the year contender. Selby (23-1, 8 KOs), who won his belt in May 2015 and has defended it twice, would love a chance to unify against Frampton (23-0, 14 KOs) in a bout that would be enormous in the United Kingdom. Frampton will have many options, including a possible rematch with Santa Cruz, if Santa Cruz exercises his contractual right to a rematch. But Frampton said he is open to facing Selby. They both showed great respect toward each other.
