Diaz replaces Cishek as Mariners’ closer

Steve Cishek is out as the Mariners’ closer, and rookie Edwin Diaz is in.
Manager Scott Servais confirmed the move after Cishek surrendered a go-ahead solo home run to Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts in the top of the ninth of Seattle’s 2-1 loss to Boston on Monday night.
