CINCINNATI — Bengals first-round pick William Jackson III will miss time as he rehabs a torn pectoral muscle, a source confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday. It appears his rookie season could be in jeopardy.
The cornerback, selected 24th overall this spring, was hurt late in Cincinnati’s practice Monday afternoon, and wasn’t present at Paul Brown Stadium on Tuesday. A source also told ESPN the team may look to get a second opinion on the injury.
While the injury will certainly delay Jackson’s growth into the Bengals’ system, it shouldn’t have a major effect on the team’s plans at the cornerback position this season.
