Bulgaria awaits first ever club champion in beach volleyball

Varna, Bulgaria, August 1, 2016 – The first beach volleyball club champion of Bulgaria will emerge this week as the last tie of the inaugural season in the brand new National Club League gets set to commence on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

The three medallists are already known, but who gets what kind of medals will be determined by these four remaining matches between the teams of Perun Varna and Bojur Volley Bozhurishte, currently in positions 2 and 3 in the standings.

The National Club League (NOL) is run under an innovative format introduced by a private promoter and with the full recognition as an official national championship for clubs by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation. Its pilot 2016 edition for women features a unique home-and-away double round robin formula, normally applied in other team sports, but for the first time in beach volleyball.
