Mets acquire Bruce from Reds for 2 prospects

For the second straight season, the Mets completed a blockbuster deal at the non-waiver Trade Deadline, acquiring outfielder Jay Bruce from the Reds for infielder Dilson Herrera and left-hander Max Wotell.
Bruce, 29, leads the National League with 80 RBIs in 97 games, thanks in large part to a .360 batting average with runners in scoring position — a significant bugaboo for the Mets’ current lineup, which ranks last in the Majors in that category at .206. Bruce is both a natural right fielder …
