A’s land haul of prospects for Reddick, Hill

OAKLAND — The A’s dealt a pair of their biggest assets ahead of the 1 p.m. PT Trade Deadline on Monday, sending longtime right fielder Josh Reddick and starter Rich Hill to the Dodgers for three prospects.
Oakland is set to land three right-handed pitchers from Los Angeles’ farm system: Grant Holmes, ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Dodgers’ No. 5 prospect, Frankie Montas (No. 8) and Jharel Cotton (No. 13).
Both Reddick and Hill are free agents at season’s end. The A’s attempted to come to terms with Reddick on a contract extension during Spring Training, but sides weren’t able to reach a deal; at the time, Oakland was only willing to assure him three years, while he wanted four.
