Suedois set to run at Deauville

David O’Meara’s Suedois is set to bid for a first Group One victory in the Prix Maurice De Gheest at Deauville this weekend.
Suedois was runner-up for the third time in four starts when chasing home Limato in the July Cup and he is set to bid for Group One glory once more in this weekend’s Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville rather than take up an alternative possible engagement in Ireland.
O’Meara told At The Races: “I’ll have a chat with the owners but I suspect they might be keener on the Maurice De Gheest. I think Limato could be a very good horse and it’s highly likely we could bump into him again, but we’ll see.
“He hasn’t done anything wrong. He’s just been beaten by a better horse in Limato at Newmarket, but he beat five Group One winners that day. He’s competing in these races and he could well win one. He’d definitely win …
