Mets reportedly on verge of acquiring Bruce

NEW YORK — For the second straight season, the Mets are zeroing in on a blockbuster deal at the non-waiver Trade Deadline.
A year after acquiring Yoenis Cespedes in a move that transformed the face of their team, the Mets on Monday afternoon were on the verge of Reds acquiring outfielder Jay Bruce, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. Multiple reports pegged Cincinnati’s return haul as outfielder Brandon Nimmo and two other prospects.
