Ali Carter back in world’s top 16 after beating Joe Perry in World Open final

Carter’s previous ranking titles came at the 2009 Welsh Open, 2010 Shanghai Masters and 2013 German Masters
Ali Carter won his first ranking event since 2013 with victory over Joe Perry in the final of the World Open.
Carter, playing in his first major final since being given the all-clear from lung cancer in 2014, beat his fellow Englishman 10-8 in Yushan.
The 37-year-old won four frames in a row to lead 6-3 at the halfway stage.
