Shipley’s milestone a pick-me-up for D-backs

LOS ANGELES — After their 4-2 win over the Dodgers on Saturday night, there was music in the D-backs’ clubhouse, a celebratory shower for a rookie and some much-needed positive feelings on what has been a frustrating road trip.

They had right-hander Braden Shipley to thank for that.

In just his second big league start, Shipley tossed six shutout innings allowing five hits and a walk, while striking out four.
