Padres move Kemp to Braves, get back Olivera

The San Diego Padres have traded outfielder Matt Kemp to the Atlanta Braves for third baseman Hector Olivera.
The deal, first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, was confirmed by both teams later Saturday night.

The Padres dealt Matt Kemp and his declining defense to the Braves for Hector Olivera, who is currently suspended under MLB’s domestic violence rules.
The Padres are sending $10.5 million to the Braves as part of the trade, a source told ESPN. Kemp is signed through the 2019 season.
Olivera, a 31-year-old Cuban defector, is eligible to return Tuesday from an 82-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s domestic-violence policy. The suspension, which is retroactive to April 30, stemmed from his April 13 …
