Peterson’s hamstring pull puts Vikings on alert

MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sustained a slight hamstring pull while working out the week before the start of training camp, coach Mike Zimmer said Saturday.
The NFL’s leading rusher has missed the team’s first two practices, but Zimmer doesn’t expect Peterson’s injury to be a long-lasting issue.
Peterson took the Vikings’ conditioning test Friday, a day after the rest of the roster did, and worked on the side with the team’s athletic training staff for a second straight day Saturday.
