Road To Riches will not bid to salvage something from this year’s Galway Festival in the At The Races Chase on Sunday after Noel Meade revealed his Grade One winner to be “a little bit flat”.
Meade’s nine-year-old was a brilliant winner of the Galway Plate in 2014 and was a hot favourite to regain his crown in the Ballybrit feature on Wednesday.
But after having made an early mistake, Road To Riches folded tamely from three out and was pulled up – after which it transpired he had been struck into and also lost a shoe.
