Lucroy focused on baseball, not trade rumors

MILWAUKEE — If you’re reading this sentence, you know as much about the trade rumors swirling around Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy as Lucroy himself.
“I honestly don’t know anything about anything,” Lucroy said Friday afternoon, three and a half hours before he started behind the plate against the Pirates, and less than 72 hours before Monday’s 3 p.m. CT non-waiver Trade Deadline. “You’d think that [a player] would, but they’re running a pretty tight ship with whatever they’re doing. If they’re trying to keep it a secret, they’re doing a pretty good job of it.”
Did he wish he knew more about what general manager David Stearns & Co. had cooking?
“One day, it would be cool to know the full details, but right now, I’m worried about playing the game, and I’m focused on that right now,” Lucroy said. “Maybe down the road, I’ll call Stearns up and ask how it all went down — if it does.”
