Braun hopes to return to lineup Saturday

MILWAUKEE — Ryan Braun’s sore right side was “a little bit better” Friday, but it remained bothersome enough that he missed a second straight start as a precaution.
“The danger becomes when it’s really tight it won’t loosen up,” Braun said before the Brewers opened a series against the Pirates at Miller Park. “Obviously just trying to avoid hurting it badly. I’ll get some treatment on it today and hopefully get back out there [Saturday].”
Brewers manager Craig Counsell reiterated that hope, saying Braun could return to the lineup as early as Saturday.
