Royals activate Cain from DL, option Eibner

ARLINGTON — Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain is back, and eager to help turn his team around.
Cain, who has been recovering from a strained hamstring sustained in late June, returned after a quick two-game rehab stint with Triple-A Omaha in nearby Round Rock. He went 3-for-8 in those two games.
The Royals went 9-16 in Cain’s absence and plummeted to fourth place in the American League Central.
