Cards on verge of getting Moss, Peralta, Carp back

MIAMI — Regardless what the Cardinals may do leading up to Monday’s non-waiver Trade Deadline, the organization is pretty certain it will make three key additions within the next week.
Brandon Moss and Jhonny Peralta are projected to come off the 15-day disabled list ahead of Tuesday’s series opener in Cincinnati, general manager John Mozeliak said on Friday. And if all goes well with Matt Carpenter’s rehab assignment, he’ll likely rejoin the team three days later when it returns to St. Louis.
Mozeliak said that Carpenter, who strained his right oblique on July 6, “took a significant step in the right direction” on Thursday. If Carpenter continues to progress without a setback, he will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on …
