ATP TORONTO: Wawrinka dismantles Anderson, strong finish for Nishikori against Dimitrov

When the draw came out, Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori were scheduled to meet in the semi-final, and that will happen after they’ve both being successful today. Wawrinka had an easy job against Kevin Anderson, losing just 4 games, while Nishikori had to work much harder to dismiss Grigor Dimitrov, needing 2 hours and 9 minutes to reach back-to-back Canada semis. Overall, this will be 4th consecutive Masters 1000 semi-final for Kei, and 10th overall, with a 2-7 score so far. In fact, he only won the matches in which he didn’t face Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, and judging by that he will have a shot tomorrow of reaching his 3rd final at this level. In the affair full of ups and downs from both players, Nishikori proved to be stronger in the third set, cracking Grigor’s resistance with a double break and a strike of 5 games in a row.
