Blond goatee, straw hat: Is Cam Newton having a ‘midlife crisis’?

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Is Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton going through a midlife crisis? At age of 27?
That’s what outside linebacker Thomas Davis jokingly told the NFL MVP after Newton arrived at training camp sporting a blond goatee that looks like something out of the Odell Beckham Jr. style book.
“I think we’re both at a midlife crisis right now,” Newton said Friday. “[Davis] said I was too old to be blonding my beard. I said he was too old to have a Mohawk.”
