Bryan Cooper faces a month off with internal injuries, but his safety vest may have prevented far more serious injuries, according to Turf Club doctor Adrian McGoldrick.
The leading jockey was riding the Gordon Elliott-trained Tiger Roll in the Guinness Harp Novice Chase on the fourth day of the Galway Festival when the pair parted company on the approach to the final fence.
