HOUSTON — The Astros are planning to summon first baseman Tyler White to join the club in Detroit, a source confirmed to MLB.com on Thursday.
White will join the team in time for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers at Comerica Park. The Astros are expected to place starting pitcher Doug Fister on the paternity list, which could be the corresponding move for White. The team has not confirmed the move.
