Devils sign defenseman Brandon Gormley to a one-year contract

Newark, NJ – The New Jersey Devils today signed free agent defenseman Brandon Gormley to a one-year, two-way contract worth $650,000 at the NHL level. The announcement was made by Devils’ Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero. Gormley, 24, spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche organization. In 2015-16, he scored one assist and accumulated eight penalty minutes in 26 games with the Avalanche. He also recorded four goals and two assists for six points with 26 penalty minutes in 39 games with San Antonio (AHL). Gormley spent three-plus seasons, 2010-11 through 2014-15, with the …
