Arsenal Transfer News: Shkodran Mustafi Rumours After Per Mertesacker Injury

Arsenal will reportedly have to pay a fee of €25 million (£21 million) if they’re to land Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia this summer.
With Per Mertesacker ruled out for “a few months” with injury, according to manager Arsene Wenger, the Gunners are a little short at centre-back as things stand.
Mustafi has been tipped as a potential option, and according to Cadena Cope (h/t Lorenzo Bettoni of Calciomercato.com) Arsenal could land the player for the amount mentioned.
Ed Malyon of the Daily Mirror has reported that the Gunners are keen on signing the Germany international and also suggested an offer of €25 million would be enough to sign Mustafi, despite a release clause of double that amount in his contract.
Indeed, Malyon added that Arsenal’s interest “was welcomed by the Mestalla club as an opportunity to get some much-needed funds on board.”
