Saladino, Sanchez to share 2B in Lawrie’s absence

CHICAGO — Tyler Saladino started at second base again Wednesday, but White Sox manager Robin Ventura won’t commit to Saladino being there most of the time in Brett Lawrie’s absence. Lawrie was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 22) with a strained left hamstring. Infielder Carlos Sanchez was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.
“It’ll be a combination,” Ventura said. “We could also have spots in there coming up on the road trip where Sally could play some third base, [Todd] Frazier would play first and [Jose] Abreu DH and [Avisail Garcia] to right, [Adam] Eaton to center. There are a couple of combinations there. If anybody went over to third, it would be Sal more than Sanchy.”
