Rangers land Harrell from Braves for prospect

The Braves on Wednesday traded a pair of pitchers — right-handed starter Lucas Harrell and lefty reliever Dario Alvarez — to the Rangers for infield prospect Travis Demeritte ahead of Monday’s non-waiver Trade Deadline.
Harrell, 31, is 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 29 1/3 innings over five starts with the Braves, with whom he signed a Minor League contract in May. He spent last season in Korea after failing to make a big league roster, then was signed and released by the Tigers this spring before settling in …
