Eflin, Phillies have rough finale vs. Marlins

MIAMI — Adam Conley continued his dominance at home and he got plenty of run support in the Marlins’ 11-1 win over the Phillies on Wednesday afternoon at Marlins Park.

Don Kelly led a 16-hit attack for a Marlins team that came into the game leading the National League in hits (938) and put their leadoff hitter on base in every inning. Giancarlo Stanton made a leaping catch to end the top of the first inning, then hit his 22nd homer of the season — a two-run shot in a three-run bottom of the first.

Conley worked 6 2/3 scoreless innings, scattering eight hits. He struck out six, walked three, and helped his cause with two RBIs. Conley lifted a sacrifice fly, scoring Kelly, who tripled to lead off the fourth, then singled home Kelly, who tripled again in the sixth.

The lefty escaped bases-loaded, one-out jams in both the third and sixth innings while improving to 3-0 in his last five starts at home with a 1.41 ERA (32 IP, 5 ER) over that span.
