- Updated: July 27, 2016
Indians prospect Francisco Mejia is reaching historical prominence with the 39-game hit streak he’ll take into Wednesday’s game for Class A Advanced Lynchburg.
The Indians’ No. 8 prospect via MLBPipeline.com, Mejia is slashing .395/.419/.637 with 10 doubles, two triples, eight homers and 36 RBIs during his streak, which began exactly two months ago Wednesday. If he gets a hit tonight, he’ll become just the 16th Minor Leaguer to have a hit in 40 straight games.
