Ichiro collects hit, now 3 shy of 3,000

MIAMI — Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki sliced a single to left off Phillies right-hander Andrew Bailey to open the eighth inning of Tuesday’s 5-0 win at Marlins Park, and the 42-year-old is now three hits shy of reaching 3,000.
