Pete Carroll, Seahawks Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

The Seattle Seahawks and head coach Pete Carroll reached an agreement Tuesday on a three-year contract extension, owner Paul Allen announced on Twitter.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news.
Carroll was set to enter the final season of his previous deal, so it made sense for Seattle to lock him up now to avoid questions about his future during the 2016 campaign.
The news comes just two days after the Seahawks gave general manager John Schneider an extension as well.
The 64-year-old coach has posted a 60-36 (.625) regular-season record across six years with Seattle. He led the franchise to the playoffs in five of those seasons, highlighted by two Super Bowl appearances, including a victory over the Denver Broncos at the end of the 2013 campaign.
