J.D. Martinez begins Triple-A rehab stint

BOSTON — Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez began an injury rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday at Durham. Martinez served as the Mud Hens’ designated hitter.
The right fielder has been on the disabled list since June 17 with a non-displaced fracture in his right elbow.
Manager Brad Ausmus said the Tigers will consider moving Martinez to the outfield after evaluating how well he does at the dish.
