Teheran set for return Saturday vs. Phillies

MINNEAPOLIS — Since providing an initial scare when he made an early exit from Friday’s start at Coors Field, Julio Teheran has made a quick recovery and positioned himself to make his next start this weekend.
Taking advantage of Monday’s off-day, the Braves have given Teheran a couple extra days of rest and lined him up to start Saturday night’s game against the Phillies at Turner Field. The All-Star right-hander has not experienced any lingering effects since he exited Friday’s start because of tightness in his right lat — the large back muscle located behind and below the shoulder.
“It would be crazy to not take advantage of the extra couple of days,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “After he throws a side [session], we’ll have a better idea.”
