Kim, Ubaldo activated; Alvarez optioned

BALTIMORE — The Orioles made several roster moves prior to Tuesday’s game, adding Hyun Soo Kim from the disabled list and Ubaldo Jimenez from the paternity list.
To clear roster spots, the O’s optioned Dariel Alvarez to Triple-A on Monday night and designated outfielder Julio Borbon for assignment on Tuesday evening.
The moves leave Baltimore with 13 pitchers and a short bench for its current roster makeup, a move that manager Buck Showalter said the team had been kicking around for some time.
Jimenez, who welcomed his first child — a daughter named Jimevi — on Saturday, said he didn’t pay attention much to his name circulating in trade rumors. The right-hander, a candidate to start on Thursday, is more concerned now with getting back on track …
