Ross County suffer cup exit

Holders Ross County have been knocked out of the Scottish League Cup after suffering a shock 3-2 defeat at Alloa Athletic on Tuesday.

Goals from Jordan Kirkpatrick (2) and John Robertson (11) saw Alloa race into an early two goal lead.

Brian Graham (14) and Alex Schalk (21) quickly levelled up proceedings for County, who tasted glory at Hampden Park last March when they defeated Hibernian. 

However, Alloa were not to be denied victory and grabbed the winner through Calum Walters (72) as they maintained their 100 per cent record in the competition. 

Dundee are also facing possible early elimination after losing 2-1 at League One Peterhead.  

Rory McAllister (62) put the home side in front and made sure of the win from the penalty spot (88) after being brought down inside the 18-yard box.
