A few notes from around the boxing world:
There is nothing official yet, but welterweight titlist Danny Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs), who could make his title defense against former two-time titlist Andre Berto (31-4, 24 KOs), is being ticketed to fight Sept. 24 on Showtime on a card that could also feature junior middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo (24-0, 18 KOs) defending against mandatory challenger Julian “J Rock” Williams (22-0-1, 14 KOs), a source with knowledge of the discussions told ESPN.com. Charlo-Williams was initially penciled in for Oct. 1 but likely will move to a new date.
Free agent welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (23-2, 15 KOs), 26, of Puerto Rico, was in Las Vegas last week attending the Terence Crawford-Viktor Postol junior welterweight title unification bout on Saturday at the MGM Grand. But Dulorme, who got knocked out by Crawford in the sixth round of a fight for the vacant belt in April 2015, was also there on business. He told ESPN.com that one of the …
