The night before bullpen changes, the Cubs’ other new lefty struggles

CHICAGO — On Tuesday night, the Chicago Cubs’ bullpen will have a whole new feel as lefty Aroldis Chapman will don a Cubs uniform for the first time. And while the team hasn’t blown a ton of saves this year, it still doesn’t feel right on the back end just yet.
Maybe they will once Chapman arrives.
The first lefty reliever the Cubs traded for, Mike Montgomery, is off to a rough start after giving up the winning run in the ninth inning on Monday against the White Sox. This coming just two days after giving up a three-run home run in his Cubs debut to his very first batter.

“It’s the last thing I want to do — come here and not do well right away,” Montgomery said after the 5-4 loss. “I’m not going to lose confidence though.”
