Phils place Blanco on 15-day DL

MIAMI — The Phillies announced a few notable transactions before Monday’s series opener against the Marlins at Marlins Park.
Infielder Andres Blanco was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left index finger. He broke it Sunday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, when Gregory Polanco’s spike smashed Blanco’s finger into third base. The infielder hit .271 with a .767 OPS in 168 plate appearances this season.
Infielder Taylor Featherston was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Blanco’s place on the 25-man roster. The club acquired Featherston in a trade with the Angels in February. He hit .264 with a .766 OPS in 385 …
