Carroll strikes again at Ayr

A review of the action from Ayr on Monday, where Declan Carroll sent out his second winner in two days.
A return to Doncaster for a second shot at the November Handicap with Buonarroti is in the thoughts of Declan Carroll after the five-year-old gained a first win of the season in the William Hill Bet On Your Mobile Handicap at Ayr.
Having been touched off at the track early this month, the 5/2 chance gained compensation in the one-mile-five-furlong handicap when he cruised to a two-and-three-quarter-length success to give Danny Tudhope a winning spare ride.
Buonarroti finished second to Litigant in the November Handicap last year, on what was Hayley Turner’s final ride before she retired from the saddle, and a return to Town Moor in the autumn is now on the cards.
Carroll said: “The soft ground is key to him and it can’t be soft enough. Last time out was the first time he had that ground this season and he was unlucky that day.
“When we got him from Ireland he was quite highly rated, and he showed us he was a good horse in the November Handicap last year when he ran a cracking race to finish second.
