Elvira Herman wins world under-20 100m hurdles title in record time

Elvira Herman clocked 12.85 to claim 100m hurdles gold at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on Sunday (July 24), with the Belarusian athlete breaking the championship and European under-20 records in the process.
On the final day of the championships, European under-20 champion Herman came out on top in a close final which saw five athletes go sub-13 seconds and just 0.08 cover the first four. Silver went to Jamaica’s Rushelle Burton in a national under-20 record time of 12.85, while 15-year-old Tia Jones of USA got bronze with 12.89.
Britain’s Alicia Barrett ran a PB in every round and clocked 13.15 for sixth in the final to move to second on the UK under-20 all-time list behind Yasmin Miller.
