Amanda Nunes: Shevchenko ‘Needs to Prove Herself a Little More’ Before Receiving Rematch

Amanda Nunes apparently wasn’t all that impressed with Valentina Shevchenko’s performance. Shevchenko scored a significant upset at UFC on Fox 20 on Saturday night, taking a five-round unanimous decision triumph over Holly Holm in the evening’s main event at the United Center in Chicago. It was the second victory in three Octagon appearances for the Peru-based Kyrgyzstan native. Her lone defeat? A decision loss to the current 135-pound queen at UFC 196 this past March. Shevchenko made it quite clear — in her in-Octagon interview, on Fox Sports 1 and on the post-fight press conference dais — that a rematch with Nunes is at the top of her wish list following the signature triumph of her career to date.
