Yankees see Giants come back for win in 12th

NEW YORK — Mac Williamson capped an eventful Saturday by drilling a 12th-inning, tiebreaking RBI single that propelled the Giants past the New York Yankees, 2-1, and ended San Francisco’s six-game losing streak.

With the score even at 1-1, Trevor Brown doubled to open the Giants’ half of the 12th off Anthony Swarzak (1-1). One out later, Williamson grounded his hit past diving Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius. This was just part of a tumultuous day for Williamson. He also was thrown out at home plate in the second inning before homering in the fifth.

For good measure, Williamson reached into the stands near the right-field foul line to make a difficult catch of Starlin Castro’s fly ball that ended a Yankees scoring threat in the 10th.
