Miguel Angel Jimenez holds a commanding lead after Day 3 of the 2016 Senior British Open at Carnoustie, Scotland, with a sublime seven-under round of 65 taking him to the top of the leaderboard.

The Spaniard, who’s 11 under par for the Championship, now holds a four-stroke lead over his nearest challengers, with four players tied in second place.

Englishman Paul Broadhurst is level second alongside a trio of Americans, with Wes Short Jr., Tom Byrum and Joe Durant all seven under par overall.

Jimenez Steps Up

The iconic Jimenez moved effortlessly up the leaderboard with some sublime golf on Day 3, making a significant claim for his first Senior Major Championship. 

The 21-time European Tour event winner displayed his notorious swagger and ability to overcome his overnight position of 11th place to leapfrog all those around him with a brilliant display in all areas of gameplay.

His putting in particular was largely error-free, as the Golf Channel highlighted:
