Darvish’s season-high 11 K’s can’t slow Royals

KANSAS CITY — Royals starter Danny Duffy held the Rangers to one run in 6 2/3 innings and won his fifth straight decision in a 3-1 victory on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium. First-place Texas has now lost 15 of its last 19 games.
Duffy gave up four hits, two walks and struck out four. The biggest strikeout was getting Ian Desmond with the bases loaded and two out in the third inning. The lefty is now 5-0 with a 2.96 ERA in his last eight starts.
