Indians place Colon on DL, recall Anderson

The Indians have been searching for consistency within their bullpen not only in terms of results this season, but also in personnel. The ‘pen’s revolving door spun again on Friday, when Cleveland was forced to deal with another setback with its relief corps.
Prior to Friday’s game against the Orioles, the Indians announced that rookie right-hander Joseph Colon has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder. Righty Cody Anderson, who is a starter by trade, has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus to provide some insurance for the Tribe’s bullpen.
Colon joins relievers Zach McAllister (right hip) and Tommy Hunter (lower back) on the DL for the Indians. Due to a variety of issues throughout the season, Cleveland has cycled through 19 pitchers out of the bullpen. Closer Cody Allen, setup man Bryan Shaw and righties Dan Otero and Jeff Manship are the only pitchers who have remained in the Indians’ bullpen since Opening Day.
