Boshers rejoins ‘pen; Ramirez DFA’d

BOSTON — Lefty reliever Buddy Boshers rejoined the Twins before their series opener against the Red Sox on Thursday and right-handed reliever Neil Ramirez was designated for assignment.
Boshers pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief in Thursday’s 13-2 loss, giving up two runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
Boshers pitched well with the Twins in his first stint with the club this season, posting a 1.38 ERA with 14 strikeouts and two walks in 13 innings before being optioned to Triple-A Rochester on July 4. Boshers tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings with Rochester after being optioned, and he was brought back up with Ramirez struggling. Ramirez, who was claimed off waivers from the Brewers on June 12, posted a 6.14 ERA with 11 strikeouts and 10 walks in 14 2/3 innings.
