Coors Field: Home of the long ball

Coors Field is the ultimate hitter’s haven.
Over the years, steps have been taken to limit the impact of the altitude at the stadium — such as putting baseballs in a humidor — in order to give pitchers a chance to succeed.
On Thursday night, Mark Reynolds put the limits of Coors Field to the test, and teammate Carlos Gonzalez continued his excellent season with the long ball.
Reynolds’ long homer
In the seventh inning, Reynolds hit a home run to deep left-center field off of Hunter Cervenka. ESPN’s Hit Tracker team calculated the homer at 486 feet, the second longest of the season, trailing only a 490-foot homer by Giancarlo Stanton.
