Rodon nearing rehab assignment

CHICAGO — White Sox general manager Rick Hahn had good news and bad news during the injury-updates portion of his press briefing on Thursday at U.S. Cellular Field.
The good news was about left-hander Carlos Rodon, who’s on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left wrist.
“Carlos Rodon played catch again yesterday, felt good, is progressing nicely,” Hahn said. “He will progress into a [side session] tomorrow. There will likely be another side a few days after that, and at some point there will be a rehab start in [Triple-A] Charlotte or somewhere prior to his return, but he is advancing and improving and hopefully that rehab isn’t too far …
